Sr. Certified Nursing Assistant: Shift Available 10:45 pm - 7:15 am, will work 40 Hours per week and work 3 weekends monthly and holidays.

Prefer Long Term care experience and must have a current up-to-date Certified Nursing Assistant license.

Incumbent is responsible to provide direct nursing care to residents on an assigned unit for the Veterans Nursing Home of Florida, St. Augustine and maintain a valid Florida Nursing Assistant certificate, basic computer skills; ability to read and communicate in English; completed State of Florida employment application submitted through People First; pre-employment screens (fingerprints, drug test). Positions available to work 10:45 pm - 7:15 am, 40 hours per week to include working 3 weekends on and one weekend off and holidays required.

Candidates for positions within FDVA are required to undergo a Level 2 Criminal Background Screening and drug testing.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

Provide assistance necessary when giving residents the following Activities of Daily Living Nursing care: oral hygiene; bathing; dressing and grooming; hair and nail care; shaving; toileting; eating and drinking; mobility. Perform restorative Nursing measures. Perform simple Nursing measures such as but not limited to: applying binders, making occupied and unoccupied beds, changing linen, etc. Respond to resident’s requests and needs. Complete required documentation.

Certified Nursing Assistant certificate. Must have ability to perform blood pressure checks. Knowledge of long-term care specific to resident rights, quality of life, quality of care, infection controls. Ability to maintain professional etiquette when dealing with residents’ family and with staff. Ability to deal with general input and output computer functions. Knowledge of nursing assessments. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations. May be exposed to infectious diseases such as AIDS, Hepatitis, and Tuberculosis.
