It offers a confluence of features from Facebook, Wikipedia, TripAdvisor, and Twitter, with a few innovations: 1) Independent, user-generated reviews of nightlife venues, 2) a Party Calendar to see whos going where and when (with ample privacy controls), 3) a Wikipedia approach to country and city nightlife descriptions, and 4) a Genie advisory service to provide users with advice about clubs, bars, lounges, restaurants and live music venues.

On social networking sites like Facebook people find friends through old connections. On dating sites people find matches based on photos and personal ads. On MyPartyGenie people make new friends and build networks around their favorite nightlife cities or venues, or those they hope to visit. The site is intended to connect people with similar nightlife interests in non-intrusive ways. And then move their relationship from the computer to the real world.

Scope of Work
The major overriding objective of the internship is to develop and implement a personalized strategy to increase the number of members and the amount of content on MyPartyGenie. The target audiencethough not exclusiveis college students and recent grads. Some entry points might be the Greek system, pub crawls, social networks, nightlife promoters, sports teams, bars and clubs, Facebook groups, Twitter pages, etc. Interns could choose to focus deeply on one university town or on a barrage of locations. Interns can use their personal contacts or reach out to existing networks. Interns could try and multiply their effectiveness by sub-contracting work to junior interns they would then supervise (if monetized, this could mean sitting on top of a pyramid and making money for every new person who registers on the website, even if they were brought on by junior interns).
