Responsibilities The National Security Agency (NSA) is seeking a highly motivated technically qualified individual to fill a security systems engineering vacancy.  At NSA, security systems engineers have the opportunity to apply their knowledge across a broad spectrum of projects.  These tasks can vary from early development efforts to supporting major acquisition programs.  You will be part of an organization that seeks to establish the use of corporate security services across a varied range of projects encompassing all that is required to support new, improved and secure intelligence capabilities and products to our customers.
This position focuses on systems security design.  Emphasis will be on analyzing the implementation of information security and information assurance requirements while working within the constraints established by mission architecture and governed by NSA enterprise architecture.  Tasks might include developing security systems engineering guidance, providing recommendations for improvement after analyzing the NSA security and mission architecture, analyzing end-to-end security requirements for completeness, planning and overseeing security system integration to ensure interoperability.  The ability to investigate and develop security design patterns, use case and scenarios, and setting the direction for the security component of the Enterprise Architecture will be needed. The selectee will be expected to provide technical guidance and architectural impact assessments for information assurance and systems security activities and policies.

Perform traditional systems engineering functions, including performing high-level system design, specify system/component performance and interface requirements and develop installation, integration and acceptance test plans..Qualifications Entry is with an Associate's degree and 5 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree.
Degree should be in System Engineering, Computer Science, or Engineering. If degree is in a related field (e.g., Math, IFSM) one year of systems engineering experience is required.
Systems development life cycle experience (e.g., system design, interface specification, quality assurance, requirements gathering, deployment).
Experience in dynamical systems, optimization, modeling desirable.
