Job Responsibilities:
The position requires primary responsibility for product development for products within the assigned SBU.

Essential Duties:
● Drive new product ideas from description to launch
● Specify and document new products and communicate directly with manufacturing sources during production start up
● Ensure products meet all cost, quality and performance objectives
● Work with US and International manufacturing facilities (5-10% International Travel required)
● Support quality and cost improvement initiatives on existing products
● Other duties as assigned


Educational Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Work Experience Requirements:
● A minimum of 8 years New Product Development experience in a manufacturing company
● Proven ability to engineer products and manage projects through production start
● Experience with development of consumer products is preferred
● Experience with SPC including 6 Sigma initiatives and Design of Experiments is preferred
● Experience in creating product performance specifications and 2D product documentation is required
● Work experience in a team environment and strong communication skills are required
● Experienced in the development of rapid prototypes is required
● Proven ability to handle the development of multiple projects (5+) simultaneously

Technical Experience Requirements:
● Proficient in Pro Engineer or Equivalent
● Knowledgeable in principles of design for injection molding, extrusion, metal fabrication, progressive die stamping and assembly
● Knowledgeable in design for manufacturability
● Knowledgeable in plastic material performance and selection
● Proven project management skills and experience with MS Projects
● Familiarity with writing systems is preferred, but not required
● MS Office
