Responsibilities:

Overview

Working in Nuance’s International Head office in Dublin, the accountant will be a member of the Accounting and Reporting team (circa 20 people). The role will give responsibility for US GAAP reporting for a number of functional areas across the EMEA region to strict timelines and can include supporting the statutory/fiscal/compliance function.
As part of a US based company, quoted on the NASDAQ (NUAN) all SOX related procedures have to be completed.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the end of month, quarterly and year end closings for the assigned functional areas and legal entities - to provide management with accurate, reliable financial information in time.
• Prepares and posts journal entries, maintains and reconciles multiple, complex or high impact ledger accounts
• Recommends improvements in methods or procedures
• Prepare the monthly payroll entries
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and analyses relating to account activity and accrual requirements

• Produce/reviews month end reporting package and variance analysis

• Prepare the fixed assets roll forward including additions and deletions as required from the fixed asset database
• Works under direct supervision, on broad, diverse or complex assignments.(Oracle update testing, merger and acquisitions)
• Preparation of VAT returns and other local compliance (local declarations and annual accounts)
• Train, provide work direction and technical advice to junior financial accounting and/or support staff. Facilitate resolution of complex problems.
• Must work effectively with remote locations requiring excellent interpersonal skills as applicable to assignment. (Various locations across EMEA and APAC)
• Ensure Sarbanes - Oxley (SOX) compliance

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
• Master/ Honours Bachelor’s Degree degree in accounting or finance.
• ACCA / ACA/CIMA Qualified
• Fluent in English, language skills are an advantage
• Experience using Oracle ERP desired.
• Strong Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong Analytical skills

• Ability to standardize processes
• Strong communication skills
• Team Player
• Ability to meet deadlines
