Responsibilities:

The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst works as a team lead and has primary responsibility for identifying problems with the software and for coordinating the testing effort with a small team. The position involves close interaction with other QA analysts to accomplish the testing effort, assigning work to those analysts and reviewing their found defects. Close interaction with development and support personnel is required for issues reported by clients. Some interaction with clients may be required to support resolution of their issues.

  • Work with product designers and developers at all stages to promote quality
  • Produce or review test cases and work with Business Analysts in the approval process
  • Produce common QA metrics during and post release
  • Lead an offshore QA team including assigning work to contractor QA analysts and reviewing their work for completeness
  • Reproduce defects reported from the field and write clear steps to reproduce
  • Prioritize defects found by the team
  • Participate in defect triage meetings for defects found during integration testing with other QA teams and for defects found by clients during beta testing
  • Prioritize automation of manual tests and work with automation lead to have tests written to reduce the manual testing effort
  • Verify the load, scalability, and performance requirements have been met
  • Co-coordinate with the IT department to ensure required test platforms are available
  • Work with developers to perform root-cause analysis and preliminary problem diagnosis for client reported defects
  • Test or assist in testing interfaces
  • Assist in the manual testing effort
Qualifications:

5+ years industry experience:

Excellent communication skills required to document and report on defects and other software issues

Experience working with an offshore team, providing leadership and direction predominantly via email

Strong manual testing experience; testing will be required

Strong problem-solving ability

Functional Windows experience including use of Office applications

Programming knowledge in a language such as Java

Experience with web-based database applications

Experience with SQL Server (be able to write queries)

Experience with testing interface products, web services and use of tools such as soapUI

Preferred:

Experience with automation tools (such as QTP or LoadRunner)

Experience with HL7 message standard for interfacing

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
