Description
Responsibilities:

An active member of the team responsible for installation, configuration and setup of the data center infrastructure, as well as the application infrastructure that sits on top of the data center infrastructure. The position requires an individual to possess a wide range of IT skills required to support large scale application/system; both within the hosted environments as well as On-Premise deployments. The candidate should possess varying levels of expertise in servers (HP, IBM, Dell etc.), operations systems (mostly Linux, some MS windows), networking and both industry-standard and proprietary software and hardware applications. Hosted Service Systems Engineers are expected to be self-driven, intelligent, passionate and dedicated individual who are knowledgeable in most aspects of IT infrastructure as well as excited to learn new technologies along the way.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration, and support of the following technologies: x64-based server hardware, Linux server and Windows operating systems, proprietary Nuance applications, networking products (F5 load balancers, web servers, firewalls, routers, switches etc.)
  • Operational monitoring and preventative maintenance of all data center systems and components
  • 24x7 On-call support on a rotational basis
  • Participation in scheduled after-hours maintenance windows
  • Responsible for enhance current Linux OS automation tools.
  • Documentation of support and operational processes
  • Knowledge sharing and cross-training of team members
  • Continuous effort to enhance and improve current processes
  • Strong willingness to learn and troubleshoot new applications
Qualifications:

  • BS or BA in Computer Science or related IT field.
  • 3-5 years of solid IT infrastructure experience.
  • General IT support skills: hardware, software, application configuration and support
  • General business software skills: Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong troubleshooting, communications, and customer support skills
  • Server Hardware: HP/DELL/IBM, equivalent server hardware acceptable
  • Server Operating Systems: Very strong Linux ES/AS/RH and some Microsoft Windows 2000/2003/2008 knowledge.
  • Networking technologies: routers, switches, VPN devices, firewalls, web servers, IP load balancers
  • Networking Equipment: Cisco knowledge preferred, equivalent network products acceptable
  • RedHat Linux: Administrator level experience or greater preferred
  • Required to be well organized and able to track progress on initiatives independently
  • Vendor Certifications a Plus; RedHat Certified Engineer, Cisco CCNP, CCNA, CCIE. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
