Responsibilities:

The Vice President of Healthcare Hosted Applications provides management direction, leadership and overall accountability for the Hosted environment. This position shapes organizational policy to improve service delivery, cost of operations, and performance of Hosted operations. The leader will have a passion for technology, excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This candidate will manage the Infrastructure Team and the day-to-day operations of a 24/7 production environment, including but not limited to servers, storage, networks, databases and telecommunication equipment. The primary goal of the Infrastructure Team is to deliver a high performing, and highly reliable and efficient hosting infrastructure across Nuance Healthcare platforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day to day operations of a 24/7 transactional environment.
  • Develop long-term strategies to continuously improve cost and quality of Infrastructure services.
  • Provide weekly reports citing metrics on server and systems monitoring, backups, and utilization, trends, successes and challenges.
  • Serve as primary interface for MA due diligence, planning and integration of Healthcare technology operations.
  • Participate in strategic planning, tactical operation planning, and the development of Disaster contingency operation plans.
  • Conduct capacity planning to ensure timely acquisition of resources, monitor infrastructure budget and associated resources.
  • Partners closely with divisional finance to oversee Capital expenditures and Expenses for the operation, including budgeting, tracking, and cost containment.
  • Experience with HIPAA and other regulatory compliance issues in support of Infrastructure.
  • Oversee production scheduling and change management processes, establish customer Service Level Agreements (SLA) and achieve performance criteria as agreed.
  • Partner closely with the Development and Engineering teams to facilitate new product delivery and enhancements. Act as liaison between Infrastructure and other departments.
  • Develop and implements standards, procedures, best practices and business processes.
  • Work with Global Hosting organization to develop and direct the long term strategy for the organization.
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be of exceptional intellect and strategic acumen with an ability to synthesize disparate insights into implications and recommendations to drive growth in alignment within the organization. He/she will have led the expansion of Infrastructure Operations for a billion dollar company. He/she will be highly innovative regarding solutions development, strategic positioning, acquisitions and display a high sense of urgency and a demonstrated ability to drive to big outcomes through ambiguity. This individual will be able to take ambiguity and structure it so that progress happens. A motivator, influencer and proactive leader who can inspire others to follow his/her lead; an open-minded facilitator and excellent listener.

  • Typically has 12 to 15 years of experience in managing large scale distributed operations.
  • Technology Expertise: Networking, Virtualization, Storage, Computing, Databases and process competency related to best practice frameworks for infrastructure management (ITIL)
  • Strong vendor management skills to successfully lead the evaluation and selection of all software, tools, and 3rd party suppliers related to infrastructure management.
  • Strong Project Management skills and attention to detail. Top-notch problem-solving skills a must.
    • Excellent management skills while maintaining an in-depth knowledge of Nuance Healthcare solutions.
    • Excellent time management, communication, decision making, presentation and organization skills.
    • Very strong, analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills are essential.
    • Strong planning and organizational skills to effectively handle multiple situations, manage priorities.
    • Display a strong desire to achieve and attain high levels of both internal and external customer satisfaction.
