The primary role of the intern is to gain exposure to the overall operations of Office Depot. Interns will be assigned work related to their major. The intern will complete one or more projects involving program creation, maintenance, communication, implementation and analyze the results for their assigned departments. Interns will also assist with other duties within the their department as needed. At the end of the 12-week internship, the intern will present their project/s to Sr. management and above.

As a Tax Intern you may have the opportunity to work on projects/tasks such as:
• Respond to auditors’ Information/Documentation Requests
• Research tax issues using various research engines (RIA, Taxware, Vertex, State & Local Governmental websites)
• Prepare formal audit responses
The intern will also be involved in the preparation work for the Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday season. Many states & local jurisdictions offer a sales tax-free period of anywhere from two days to one week during the months of July and August. The Audit/Systems team is responsible for SKU setup and controls to ensure that Office Depot customers take advantage of these tax-free periods when shopping in our stores. The intern will perform the following systems tasks:
• Performing SKU reviews to ensure that SKUs are properly categorized in tax categories
• Requesting re-classes of SKUs to the correct tax categories
• Reviewing advertising inserts and ads to ensure that targeted items are correctly categorized
• Testing and verification of SKUs in our tax engines (Vertex & Taxware

A successful intern may be considered for a full-time position upon graduation.
