Position Summary:

Position: Cognos Report Developer

Report To: Director
of Financial Analysis

Primary Responsibilities:

Candidate will serve as a technical resource to develop analytics
and reporting and will perform in several different rolls, including,
but not limited to:
• Work with users to model data and create reports
based on their requirements and specifications using Cognos BI tools
(TM1, Framework Manager, Powerplay cube)
• Experience in
creating and building Powerplay cubes and build Reports based on
cubes.
• Experience creating sophisticated dashboards.
• Build reports that retrieve data from Cognos TM1 Cube(s)
(dimensional data) that meet end-user requirements and specifications
(Cognos Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio)
•
Assist in development, testing and maintenance of data
warehouse(s)/cubes to support reporting solutions that enable end
users to perform ad-hoc querying, reporting and analysis
•
Work to troubleshoot and resolve Cognos reporting issues and provide
Cognos Report Training to end users, as needed
• Drives
and challenges business units on innovative ways to successfully
utilize data and related tools to advance business objectives
• Engages in design discussions and design review sessions
with technical teams to include definition of dashboard/reporting
solutions and self-service analytics models
• Collaborates
with developers and subject matter experts to establish the data
strategy vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and
performance needs
• Sets up and maintains security rights
for all users
• Ad hoc reporting needs as requested by
upper management.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience writing reports
using a dimensional model using Cognos (Report Studio, Query Studio,
Analysis Studio, etc) for at least 3 years.
• Experience
with relational databases (SQL server and/or Oracle).

Experience developing dimensional and relational data models for
reporting purposes using Cognos tools (TM1, Framework Manager)
/>• Ability to engage with business analysts to understand
business and reporting requirements
• Highly developed
problem solving skills with the proven ability to provide creative
and effective solutions through the Cognos platform
• Good
communication skills
• Ability to work independently with
minimum supervision
• Ability to communicate status,
issues, designs and plans to peers
• Ability to meet
deadlines
• Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple
