In Quality Assurance, you will work with a company who has been established for more than 100 years and continues to remain the the United States' largest family-owned metals service center supplying carbon and alloy steel, stainless steel and aluminum products for companies nationwide.

With us, you will have the ability to drive continuous improvement, demonstrate your Leadership abilities,
and provide technical support to both sales and operations.

This Regional position will also allow you to work with locations and customers outside of the Shelbyville area, requiring up to 30% travel.

In this Quality Assurance role,  you will use proven techniques to track, analyze and report on materials, processes, and products to assure that they meet the company's and customers’ quality needs.

Responsibilities include:

Analyzing  and solving internal and external quality problems with regard to products and services.

Controlling and/or calibrating measuring equipment.

Analyzing and development of written quality procedures.

Developing and conducting on-the-job and classroom training.

Internal audits as required by ISO standards, customer complaints, or internal problems, etc.

Analyzing quality data and preparing reports for management.

Utilization of basic statistical methods for process control.  Recording test data using statistical quality control procedures. 


Required Skills and Abilities:

Possess Associate's, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in math, statistics, metallurgy, engineering, etc. or one to two years related experience and/or training in one or more of the following areas:  inspection, machine operation, programming, warehouse supervision, and training.

Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills

Speak conversational English.

Special Skills (above average skills required):  analysis and interpretation, communication (oral and written), interpersonal skills, motivation, negotiating, organization, problem solving, handling outside contacts, interdepartmental coordination, developing and implementing technical ideas, judgment and decision making, promoting group cooperation and teamwork, coping with difficulties and emergencies, promoting safety attitudes and practices, utilizing measuring devices (measuring tapes, micrometers, calipers, gages), ability to read engineering drawings.

Additional Skills:   Working knowledge in the following- ASTM and AISI Specifications, ISO 9000 Quality Standards, Lean Manufacturing practices.
