Position Overview:
The Public Relations Intern is a paid part-time internship positionwith the responsibility to engage in promoting or creating an intended public image for our client.

Critical Job Tasks
Draft basic public relations materials including news releases, media alerts, fact sheets, client meeting summaries, status reports and other materials
Carry out special and media event planning activities and arrangements as outlined by our clients
Attend and participate in client meetings, presentations, and brainstorming sessions
Assist with the development and update of media lists and other databases from our clients, marketing, and administration
Study the objectives, promotional policies, or needs of organizations to develop public relations strategies that will influence public opinion or promote ideas, products, or services
Prepare or edit organizational publications for internal and external audiences, including employee newsletters and press releases

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Communications and Media Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
Client and Personal Service Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
Clerical Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology

Requirements:
Current student pursing a bachelor's degree or above (Preferred majors in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or English)
1+ years of relevant experience
Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
Must pass background check

Compensation:Paid hourly
