Position Overview:
The Web Developer Intern is a part-time internship positionworking in our web development department modifying web sites and assisting in web maintenance.

Critical Job Tasks
Perform or direct web site updates
Edit web page content, images or other related content
Back up files from web sites to local directories for instant recovery in case of problems
Identify problems uncovered by testing or customer feedback, and correct problems or refer problems to appropriate personnel for correction
Evaluate code to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, meets industry standards and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems
Maintain understanding of current web technologies or programming practices through continuing education, reading, or participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups
Develop or validate test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces and address all browser and device types
Assisting web development department with project management on open source technologies
Data entry and creation of proper documentation

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of XHTML, CSS, XML, Javascript
PHP Programming Knowledge (PHP)
Basic MySQL knowledge
Developing and implementing well-structured and compact HTML sites
HTML hand coding skills with ability to build clean, functional, optimized web pages
Ability to test own work

Requirements:

Bachelor's or advanced degree (Preferred majors in web design and graphic design)
1+ years of programming (Preferred in web-focused design)
Strong online portfolio of work to demonstrate skills
Must pass background check

Compensation:Paid hourly
