Title: Electro-Mechanical Assembler
Location: VA-null
PDS is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembler for an open position in Norfolk, VA.

The ideal applicant will perform a wide variety of electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical assembly and fabrication tasks.

These tasks may include but are not limited to:
*
Under limited supervision performs a wide variety of tasks through verbal or detailed instructions in support of a manufacturing/production environment with no instructions needed on routine work, and general instructions given on new lines of work or special assignments.
*
Duties include assembly, disassembly, re-assembly, fabrication, minor repair and/or minor rework of surface mount and/or through hole printed circuit card assemblies, sub-assemblies, and/or electro-mechanical assemblies.
*
Duties include (but not limited to) board and/or component preparation, touch up, manually soldering components.
*
Performs modifications or upgrades or removal of and/or replacement of standard electro-mechanical, surface mount, through hole components.
*
May perform in-process self checks on items prior to submitting to formal inspection and/or test personnel.
*
Works with electronic/electrical hand tools using drawings, wire lists and technical repair standards.
Required Education:

*
High School or equivalent.

Required Skills:

*
Four to six years of experience in assembly, disassembly, re-assembly, fabrication, minor repair and/or minor rework of surface mount and/or through hole printed circuit card assemblies, sub-assemblies, and/or electro-mechanical assemblies.
*
Solder verification for circuit card assembly is required.
*
Must possess a practical knowledge of basic electronics including electronic component identification.
*
Completion of formal training to industry standards such as J-STD-001. Must pass solder verification for circuit card assembly.
*
Hands on experience in mechanical assembly operations such as cleaning shrink sleeve operations and pin retention testing.
*
Experience using electronic/electrical hand tools and other related tools including soldering irons, cable crimpers, tie wrap guns.
*
Ability to read drawings to perform measurements.
*
Familiarity in reading mechanical drawings.
*
Ability to perform mechanical assembly and limited testing (point to point check with multi-meter) of sub assemblies and cables.
*
Work in industrial environment and be able to lift 35 lbs unassisted. Good eyesight (corrected or uncorrected) and ability to distinguish color is necessary. The majority of the work is performed in a sitting position. May occasionally perform duties in a standing position.
