· Position Details

Performs functional and operational tests, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic/electromechanical components, subassemblies or assemblies, units, and systems to ensure conformance to product specifications.

Under general supervision and working within established guidelines, the incumbent in this position is responsible for performing functional and operational tests and troubleshooting of assemblies and systems to isolate fault and determine remedy of malfunction. Applications may include analog, digital, or video type circuits and logic systems. This position usually tests to available test documentation, blueprints, schematics, block diagrams, or other established test procedures and provides instruction and direction on any repair or rework required. Specific duties may include:

· Sets up and operates standard and special test equipment to perform functional and operational acceptance tests. Selects alternate test equipment as required.

· Performs general visual inspection of electronic components for conformance to procurement and production specifications.

· Writes test reports and discrepancy reports, as required. Prepares rework instructions, as required.

· Conducts defined tests and collects data, as required. Performs other related duties as directed or as time permits.

Must possess a good understanding of electronics theory, test equipment, and test procedures usually acquired through one to two years directly related experience and two years formalized training in a technical trade school.
