As a member of the leadership team, this growth-oriented position reports to the DC Operations Manager and offers great opportunity for advancement! The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our team of warehouse staff. The successful candidate will demonstrate aptitude for: Thought Leadership * Supporting the implementation of best practices * Being customer service oriented * Analyzing information and using appropriate judgment to execute agreed upon strategies * Building collaborative relationships with all levels of management team within Pier 1 ImportsResults Leadership * Leading a team to achieve goals and objectives * Managing the financial performance of the assigned department(s) within the DC, to include monitoring appropriate staffing levels, reducing damages and controlling supply costs * Leading and supporting an effective Safety program * Maintaining company equipmentPeople Leadership * Effectively acquiring and training top talent * Providing verbal and written recognition and feedback to associates * Continually mentoring and motivating teams * Engaging teams to ensure a high level of associate involvementPersonal Leadership * Ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to and effectively managed * Maintaining an open door policy in an effort to remain accessible to all associates * Maintaining the highest ethical standards and values Job Requirements : * Must possess excellent leadership and communication skills * Ability to develop talent * Ability to stock and retrieve merchandise of varying sizes from various heights, ranging from the floor level up to the ceiling of the Distribution Center * Ability to safely operate distribution center warehouse equipment * Ability to work in a non-air conditioned environment. * Ability to, on occasion, work more than 40 hours per week based on business need, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. * Ability to travel as required (DC Network meetings or for other special projects) * Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis * Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and stand for prolonged period of time * Ability to relocate preferredEducation/Experience· Bachelor's Degree is REQUIRED, preferably in related disciplines such as Logistics/Supply Chain, Business, Retail Management · 3 plus years experience in a leadership/supervisor role To submit your resume for this job, select how you heard about the job and then click the "Submit Your Resume" button below.
