JOB SUMMARY:
Assist in the development and implementation of solutions to business needs within the engineering business function and new product development process. Effectively teams with project managers, business analysts, and application developers and performs the critical activities of analysis, design, validation, and implementation for software development projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:
Requirements Gathering, Analysis, and Design – 20%
Working with the Project Manager and Business Analyst, analyze current and future state business processes
Formulate system scope and objectives
Evaluate alternatives and formulate recommended system approach
Produce system definition and design documentation

Software Development – 35%
Transform requirements into a functional specification and software design
Prepare technical design specifications for software developers/programmers
Produce deliverables including database layouts; application modules; and user interface mock-ups
Resolve questions and issues during development cycle

Software Validation and Implementation – 25%
Defines testing cases and scripts
Perform system testing and lead user acceptance testing cycle
Execute implementation tasks and ensure successful go-live
Resolve production problems

User Interface (both written and oral) – 15%
Team with business users to observe and understand their processes
Communicate with users on functional requirements, development and implementation plans
Provide day-to-day application support to business users

Other – 5%
Attend project and administrative meetings
Complete minor software programming modifications
Prepare project status reports

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE
Experience with the engineering business function; new product development process; and product data management
Experience in supporting multi-platform applications. AS/400 experience required. Additional desirable applications and platforms include Mapics, Infor XA, PLM/PDM(Windchill preferred), Java, .NET, SQL Server, Web Services
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks and be productive on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment
3-5 years of analysis experience within an Information Services environment
Four-year MIS, computer science, software engineering, or business degree, or equivalent technical degree and experience required
