Description
•Responsible for driving engineering tooling efficiencies for all metal stampings
•Works in conjunction with Program leaders and Purchasing to lead world class tooling objectives
•Update and maintain a standard RFQ for all stamping projects - Work directly with PDP leads and buyers
•Specifies and defines tool configuration to meet the overall needs of the project (cost, quality, and schedule)
•Works with Purchasing to build tool vendor relationships
•Tracks tooling efficiencies for Program leaders
•Utilize the Polaris product development process
•Plans, conducts and supervises technical assignments. Reviews progress and evaluates results
•Establishes projected part and tool costs and monitors the costs throughout the project
•Builds a LPP model for stampings (LPP – Linear Performance Pricing)
•Drives tool development from part conception thru start of production
•Participates in design reviews to ensure adequate input and involvement from all engineering and functional groups
•Attends clay reviews providing technical and commercial assessment of the tool/part cost
•Knowledgeable in the processing characteristics of common materials and able to provide technical leadership to resolve quality problems
•Completes cost analysis of tool and part assessing the optimized tool configuration
•Analyzes field problems and recommends possible solutions
•Other duties as assigned

Required Experience and Skills
•Bachelor of Science in Engineering
•Minimum 5 years of tooling experience
•Minimum 5 years of experience in processes of parts
•Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures to the completion of difficult technical problems and projects.

•ProE or similar CAD experience
•Competent using Microsoft office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint
