Minimum Skills/Requirements

High school plus specialized, short-term training in EMT-Basic. Current New Mexico EMT-Basic license, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification and New Mexico driver’s license, 23 years of age to comply with insurance regulations. Two years experience EMT-B and emergency driving experience preferred.

Primary Job Functions

•Maintains and operates an emergency medical vehicle in the safe transportation of emergency and non-emergency patients.

•Obtain and record accurate, pertinent medical information on patients, including vital signs and medical histories obtained from patient and/or family.

•Maintains positive communications and collaboration with other healthcare providers.

•Assists in providing preventative and routing maintenance for emergency vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.

•Maintain current working knowledge and certification in defensive driving techniques.

•Assists in cleaning maintaining, and stocking emergency vehicles with supplies and necessary equipment.

•Maintains accurate knowledge of call locations and current road and weather conditions.

•Participate in and endorse the established PHS guest relations program.

•Performs other functions as required.
