Description
The Finance unit within Prudential Investment Management (PIM) is responsible for the reporting and analysis of consolidated Asset Management Segment results.  The Expense Reporting & Analysis group has responsibility for reporting operating results on a direct and allocated basis.  The group has a position for an Accounting Specialist, based in Newark.  This position will report to the Accounting Director and will be primarily responsible for the financial support for the US Business Executives, the Asset Management Functions (i.e. PIM Executives, PIM HR and PIM Risk Management), and revenue items within PIM Center.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze monthly operating expenses and headcount for the PIM Functional and US Business Executive divisions.

  • Prepare estimated earnings and provide income statement analysis.

  • Prepare monthly expense vouchers and accruals.

  • Assist in the development of the quarterly forecasts.

  • Develop and analyze the annual plans and seasonalized budgets.

  • Prepare the consolidated Asset Management Compensation and Non-Compensation schedules for the quarterly Results Review Book, which summarizes the segment's quarterly results.

  • Liaison with the Functional Executives concerning any inquiries regarding their monthly expense results as well as their annual budgets.

  • Coordinate monthly chargeout of expenses to PIM and other segments across the Enterprise


  • Undergraduate degree in accounting preferred, but will consider candidates with proven experience in financial reporting and analysis.
  • 3 years of accounting/finance experience.
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to senior management
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. data extraction and manipulation)
  • Knowledge of Oracle and its applications (e.g. Clarity is a plus)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and partnering skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Ability to deal with confidential information.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
Other Comments
Overtime will be required during peak periods.
