Description
Prudential Retirement has added a new actuarial position to the
Actuarial Team of the Financial Reporting Unit in Woodbridge,
NJ.  This position will be within the area responsible for
actuarial reporting and investment support of the group annuity
product line within Prudential Retirement.  This involves
monthly GAAP/STAT reserve reporting, analyzing asset and liability
information (LRR/Asset Adequacy Testing), calculating Economic
Capital components, and determining asset-related information for
the Group Annuity Segment (GAS).
 
Primary job responsibilities for this position include: 
  • Perform Monthly Loss Recognition Reserve (LRR) testing for
    multiple annuity products

  • Perform Monthly Income Allocation (IA) calculations for the new
    Synergy segment

  • Maintain LRR & IA modeling spreadsheets for production
    validation, asset analysis and reserve cushion projections

  • Perform LRR Annual Assumption updates & attribution
    analysis

  • Perform ad-hoc LRR impact analysis for ALM for potential
    security transactions

  • Assist in system design and business acceptance testing of the
    system enhancements needed to perform the LRR/IA monthly financial
    reporting

 
Other potential modeling responsibilities include:
  • Asset Adequacy Testing (AAT)/RBC C-3 testing

  • New York Regulation 128 reserve testing


  • Demonstrated initiative, motivation, and flexibility
  • Process and results oriented, with strong attention todetail

  • Excellent organization skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Ability to work under periodic time constraints (monthlyclose)

  • Familiar with accessing various sources of data in spreadsheetor database applications

  • Proficient in MS Excel, including knowledge of Excel Macros /Visual Basics

  • MS Access knowledge, a plus

  • Net Investment Income knowledge, a plus

  • Annuity product knowledge, a plus

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Passing of Actuarial and/or CFA exams, a plus

  • At least 3 years of experience in actuarial or finance field,preferred
