This position is part of the Prudential Real Estate Investors Finance Unit. Prudential Real Estate Investors (PREI) provides global investment management services to institutional investors worldwide. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Perform quarterly and annual 3rd party portfolio financial statements review under the direction of the director for domestic and international funds. 3rd party portfolio financial statements are prepared for each of the funds that are managed by PREI. These funds include open-end and close end structure and their financial statements are prepared under different accounting basis including but not limited to US GAAP (Investment Company Accounting), IFRS, Income tax, etc.

  • Assist in the preparation of the 3rd party portfolio financial statements annual audits

  • Review new joint venture/ADC checklists and equity recs, including interacting with the fund portfolio teams to understand the investment deals

  • Lead agreed upon procedures at partner/property manager offices.

  • Lead and assist with in-house training classes provided to PREI finance and the operations team

  • Participate in PREI finance initiatives including but not limited to complimenting/aligning our team with the restructuring of the operations team, rolling out Clarity FSR (or similar product) within our team and operations and the finance/Ops cross functional team

  • Participate and drive in partnering and team building initiative across PREI finance and other teams

  • Respond to various ad hoc requests from senior executives and areas outside PREI.

  • Recommend improvements of reports and information currently produced to assist in making them more useful to PREI and PIM management.

  • Assist in the development/training of the 1st year rotational staff.

  • Respond to various ad hoc requests from senior executives and areas outside PREI.

  • Participate in PREI initiatives including but not limited to Clarity system initiative, agreed upon procedures and automating of our quarterly calendar.


The candidate should have a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles. The candidate must be able to manage multiple assignments and priorities. Additionally, the candidate is required to have high ethical standards and be able to work with confidential information.
 
Other Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, pursuing a CPA designation. 
  • Analytical and research skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with standard PC applications such as Excel and Word.
  • Ability to deal effectively with all levels including business unit senior management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self motivated and proactive.

Overtime is required, especially during quarter-end and year-end closings.
Light travel may be required.
