Prudential's Internal Audit Department seeks self-motivated audit professionals with a genuine desire to work in a challenging, fast-paced and team-oriented environment.  Qualified individuals will be asked to assume leadership roles in a variety of assignments, including leading challenging and complex audits, as well as, developing and coaching junior staff.  These assignments will provide candidates with ample opportunities to hone their audit skills and broaden their knowledge and experience.  Internal Audit provides excellent advancement opportunities as well as the option to transfer, in the future, to other areas throughout the Company.

The mission of the Internal Audit Department is to provide independent, objective assurance services designed to add values to the Company by supporting the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors in fulfilling its oversight role.  The Department analyzes the development, sale, marketing and operational administration of insurance and investment products, the preparation of financial statements and disclosures, as well as reviews compliance with complex legal and regulatory requirements. 
 

Successful candidates for the Audit Manager position will have the following qualifications:
  • A minimum of 6 years audit experience, preferably within the Insurance or Financial Services industries.  Big 4 experience a plus but not required.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required. An accounting and/or finance degree is desired.  An MBA, CPA, CIA or CISA is a plus but not required.
  • Extensive experience with risk assessment, control analysis, audit procedures and standards, sampling techniques, risk components, and the internal framework of control.
  • Working knowledge of financial, operational, compliance and technology risk concepts.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills
  • Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
  • The ability to effectively and confidently discuss audit issues with management and develop business-focused recommendations
  • The ability to partner effectively with multiple business groups, corporate areas and independent auditors.
  • Experience leading teams with a proven record of developing junior associates
  • Project management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Experience working independently as well as in a team environment
 
Positions are primarily located at Prudential's Corporate Headquarters in Newark, NJ, although more limited opportunities may be available in Fort Washington, PA and Shelton, CT.  Audit fieldwork may require some travel to other Prudential U.S. or international locations.  Expected travel will generally vary between 5% and 30% depending on assignment.
