Description
Generally, members of the Actuarial Job Family are involved in evaluating contingent risks, such as mortality/longevity risks, morbidity risks, accident risks, asset-liability matching risks, and expense risks. More specifically, members of this job family would usually have primary responsibilities in one or more of the following Actuarial Functions - Pricing and Product Development, Valuation & Financial Reporting or Research & Support. This position usually performs complex technical work in one of the Actuarial Functions. The typical incumbent is a recent FSA/FCAS or an experienced ASA/ACAS and would usually have his/her work reviewed by a Senior Actuary or Managing Actuary. He/She may be qualified to provide actuarial certifications to the Company Actuary or outside parties. Incumbents may oversee the work of some lower level actuarial professionals or actuarial support staff.

The primary focus of this position will be the implementation and testing of interest sensitive life products in the Triton valuation system. Responsibilities are focused on the projection of Expected Gross Profits (EGPs) and the calculation of FAS97 DAC and related reserves.  Management and development of other actuarial team members is expected.
 
Qualifications
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries designation (FSA), or near-FSA with at least 5 years of actuarial experience.
  • Hands on experience with GAAP/Statutory financial reporting or actuarial modeling.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, conceptual thinker who is able to collaborate in a team environment or work independently and take a leadership role in a variety of assignments.
  • Hands on experience managing actuarial projects a plus.
