Director & Actuary Job Listing at Prudential in Newark, NJ

The Director and Actuary will be responsible for managing domestic individual life mortality and policyholder behavior experience studies and assumption development.  The Director and Actuary will manage a staff of five dedicated to this function.  The assumptions developed by this area are used by all actuarial functions within Individual Life including pricing, valuation, dividends, asset adequacy testing, and financial forecasting.  

Additional responsibilities include the following:

Analysis of mortality variances volatility as it relates to financial results

Periodic mortality table construction

Participation in industry studies and industry committees on related topics

Development of mortality assumptions for Principle-Based Reserves

FSA (ASAs with significant work experience will also be considered)

Strong analytical and communication skills

Supervisory experience

Prior experience studies work a plus
