Description

This is a newly created position within Retirement's actuarial modeling area located in Iselin, NJ (i.e. the Woodbridge office).  The modeling group is a dynamic area that is growing to meet the increasing modeling needs of the business due to new business growth,  internal capital modeling requirements (e.g. Economic Capital) and external regulatory requirements (Asset Adequacy Testing, Risk Based Capital).  As the lead of the modeling group, this role will be responsible for:


  • Driving the development, maintenance , and distribution of actuarial projection files and software utilities to be used in actuarial projections within the Woodbridge office.

  • Evaluating changes in business requirements and translating those changes into model changes.  At times, changes will require coding in one of the Visual or C languages.

  • Working closely with various model users across the actuarial group; communicating and educating various model users on changes to models and utilities.

  • Utilize the following in day-to-day activities: actuarial software (e.g. MG-ALFA), Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Visual Studio.

  • May lead a small staff.


The successful Candidate will have the following:
  • Bachelor's Degree is required
  • An FSA or an ASA with at least five years of experience.
  • More than one year of experience with developing / designing actuarial ALM models.
  • Software experience should include at least one year with actuarial software (e.g. TAS, MG-ALFA), however, certain relevant experience such as stochastic ALM modeling could suffice.
  • Experience in maintaining programs written in Visual Basic. Experience with any of the C languages a plus.
  • The candidate must have excellent organization \ project management skills and the ability to work with others.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Experience with Retirement products a plus.
