Description
As a core business within the Asset Management segment, Prudential Investments (PI) is committed to serving the investment needs of retail clients. PI consists of two major business lines; Mutual Funds and Wealth Management Solutions (WMS). The Mutual Fund business partners with Prudential Investment Management (PIM) to offer competitive, proprietary-managed mutual funds to individual investors through third-party distribution channels. The WMS business partners with select financial services institutions to provide technology driven, enhanced asset management services to their clients. The finance team within PI is responsible for controllership, planning and analysis, and financial reporting functions for the PI profit center and three legal entities. Finance also supports the key decision-making processes of the businesses. The PI Finance team is currently seeking a high caliber professional to fill a Director role. The selected individual will play an integral role in measuring, forecasting, communicating and driving financial performance for Prudential Investments. The individual is also responsible for developing and leading a team of finance professionals. The position will report directly to the Prudential Investments VP of Finance. Responsibilities:
- Perform as a capable financial advisor to Prudential Investments business leaders
- Understand the respective PI businesses and their financial results thoroughly, including both revenues and expenses
- Provide insightful and value-added analysis of financial results
- Drive improvement in financial modeling and processes, with an ultimate objective of creating accurate and timely financial projections in an efficient manner
- Partner with key business contacts, striving to become a trusted advisor
- Adapt within a dynamic environment and stay abreast to the external changes confronting the businesses
- Partner with Asset Management Segment through the consolidation of PI's financial results
- Manage the communication of financial results to the Segment CFO and staff, including explanation and analysis of results
- Oversea the reporting process of key financial drivers (Assets Under Management (AUM) and Asset Under Administration (AUA))
- Support key presentations of financial results to PI Senior Management and Asset Management segment Senior Management (CFO and President)
- Oversee and manage the overall forecast and expense planning process for PI Finance
- Manage the budgeting process, ensuring that an adequate process exists to support forecasting and planning
- Partner with key business contacts in support of the expense forecasting process for PI
- Complete and oversee controllership responsibilities for WMS business and all PI expenses
- Perform as an effective manager and leader for PI Finance
- Manage a staff of 5-6 associates to accomplish team objectives and develop a strong team focused on value-added activities
- Partner with colleagues across the PI Finance team to enhance our ability to achieve departmental objectives and key Finance unit priorities
- Actively look for and implement solutions and improvements in process
- Undergraduate/Graduate degree in a Finance oriented major (Accounting/Finance)
- Advanced designations a plus (CPA, CFA)
- Prior experience in Mutual Funds or Investment Advisory business required
- Prior experience in a Planning/Forecasting or Financial Accounting/Reporting role (6-8+ years)
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills as this individual interfaces frequently with both Finance and business unit contacts at senior levels
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in application of GAAP
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities
