DescriptionPrudential's digital center of excellence, the eBusiness Development Group (eDG), is seeking a Director, Social Media to steward our enterprise social media presence and lead our external community-building initiatives. The Director, Social Media manages the established corporate presence on the major social media networks, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. The position also leads innovation efforts to define how Prudential will leverage social locations where we don't yet have a presence, such as Pinterest, Google+, and Foursquare. The Director will define and direct the goals, management, monitoring, and evolution of our offering in each space. The Director also ensures consistency in the digital space by sharing social media strategies and best practices with the subsidiary business units. This position partners with eBusiness Directors to lead business units in the creation of social initiatives that fit under the corporate umbrella but are customized for specific business value.
Responsibilities Establish and maintain a clear set of objectives for each major social destination, emphasizing measurable business value Manage our existing corporate presence on Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube, overseeing the monitoring, moderation, content, and dialogue as appropriate in support of site strategies Plan, lead, and deploy Prudential's digital resources to establish and evolve a meaningful presence on new or emerging social destinations. Pilot social destinations not traditionally aligned with financial services in search of meaningful competitive differentiation Lead business units through planning sessions on social media networks and related applications as they can be used for business purposes in a highly regulated industry. Act as a leader and subject matter expert in the refinement of the overall social media strategy of our enterprise. Advise project teams on new initiatives from concept stage to launch and ongoing maintenance. Provide insight into how new technologies and social media can support the long-term strategy of the firm. Maintain productive relationships with line of business partners and external vendors. Be fully knowledgeable about the administrative functions of the social media networks. Align with and support the enterprise, business unit, and corporate group Social Media policies and related compliance requirements. Address concerns that arise within the legal, risk, and compliance groups. Requirements 8+ years experience managing digital projects and teams. Hands-on experience managing the social media presence and/or major initiatives for a large firm.Active participation in social media networks, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+, etc. Exceptional communication skills; able to explain in laymen's terms what an enterprise social media strategy is and why it's important Highly articulate and persuasive verbally and in all written formats. Adept with working on simultaneous projects at different stages of development. High energy and confidence to tackle complex problems Upholds high performance standards and an ability to deliver. Exceptional attention to detail. Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in teams. Undergraduate degree in a communications or a marketing-related field. Advanced degree or related certificate is desirable. Highly Preferred Experience working in financial services, especially in a large firm that provides both Business-to-Business and Business-to-Consumer products and services.
