Description
Business and Operating Risk Management is responsible for providing technical control support to Global Business and Technology Solutions (GBTS).  This position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships throughout the GBTS technology communities to the end of embedding controlled, sustainable processes and procedures in day-to-day GBTS operations.  The incumbent, therefore, must possess the ability to simultaneously interact with a variety of individuals and groups having diverse objectives representing all levels of management.  Overall responsibilities will include the following for US domestic operations, and may include involvement in similar support for GBTS operations in Ireland and Japan:
 
  • Accountability for assigned day-to-day GBTS Risk Management support

  • Partnering with management to assess technical operations to the end of developing, documenting, and implementing end-to-end procedures to strengthen existing control structures

  • Facilitation of risk assessments for key processes, operations, and projects

  • Acting as a point-of-contact for Internal and External Audit reviews

  • Supporting Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements


  • A strong working knowledge of the IT infrastructure and computer processing environments used by Prudential.  This should include MVS, CICS, TSO, DB2 and RACF for the mainframe environment, and UNIX, Wintel, Lotus Notes, UDB, and Oracle for distributed environment, as well as web-based and networking (both public and private) systems.
  • Proficiency with COSO, COBIT, Sarbanes-Oxley, and Federal Reserve Bank frameworks for IT governance and control
  • Strong time and project management skills that include the ability to manage simultaneous projects with sometimes competing targets
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Proficiency with personal productivity software such as MS Office and Lotus Notes
