Description
Prudential has a long-standing commitment to directing financial and human resources to address critical social needs. Prudential’s Corporate Social Responsibility Department leads these efforts through its philanthropy, social investments, corporate contributions and employee engagement activities.
 
General
 
Reporting to the Chief of Administration for Corporate Social Responsibility, this position will establish and implement a strategic communications and engagement program for Prudential’s corporate responsibility work.  This is a challenging position within the organization and will interface with all members of the department’s senior management team. This individual will serve as an internal advisor and thought partner to the vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility.
 
The incumbent will be responsible for the branding and messaging of Prudential’s corporate responsibility activities.  In this role, s/he will provide overall creative leadership for a broad range of outreach-related projects. 
 
The ideal candidate should have proven experience in developing and implementing internal/external communications strategies. Strong leadership, influence and collaboration skills are critical to success in this role.
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Work with CSR leadership to identify strategic communication objectives that will guide the communication strategy

  • Consult with Prudential’s Global Communications department on internal and external communications opportunities and solutions, and support the execution of appropriate strategies

  • Identify opportunities for content development and, in collaboration with Prudential’s Global Communications department, distribution via relevant channels including website, blogs, e-mail blasts, social media, and outside publications

  • Develop and curate on-line (internet and intranet) content, and ensure it is consistent, accurate and up-to-date

  • Develop print communications and reports including board materials, the department’s annual report and marketing collateral materials

  • Support the creation of reports and presentations on Prudential’s corporate social responsibility performance for the Prudential enterprise and broader external stakeholders

  • Serve as the point of contact for requests for information from internal and external audiences

  • Ensure timely submission of responses to surveys that include information on Prudential’s CSR work

  • Contribute to and participate in internal department and company-wide groups/teams and carry out other work as assigned

  • Provide on-going counsel on the strategic, creative expression and management of the department’s brand


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
 
Candidates shouldpossess the following:
 
Education and Experience
 
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5 - 8 years experience in a branding or communications role with experience leading and managing a function considered a plus
 
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of and networks in one or more of the following: nonprofit sector, impact investing, philanthropy and/or corporate engagement
  • Team-orientation, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects while maintaining a firm grasp on individual project details
  • Comfortable with and interested in implementing both strategic and tactical activities
  • Exceptional writing, editing, production and project management skills
  • Astute, creative researcher and storyteller, with experience addressing different audiences across multiple medium and platforms
  • Entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset with a track record of execution in a time of growth and change
  • Proven ability to listen critically, and think and act creatively, strategically and nimbly
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of constituents
