Prudential Financial is seeking a motivated individual to join the Tax Department located in Newark, NJ.  The position requires a team player responsible for the maintenance of tax records and the preparation of composite tax returns and related reports to ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and/or international tax regulations.  Responsibilities include analysis of existing and upcoming tax legislation (federal, state, local and international) to identify opportunities to minimize the organization’s tax liabilities. 

• Bachelors degree in accounting or other related business disciplines required
• CPA and/or Masters degree in tax or accounting a plus
• Comprehensive Tax experience (10+ years), financial services sector is preferred, life insurance expertise a plus
• Formal legal training a plus
• Knowledge of corporate tax topics
• Strong GAAP FAS 109  accounting for taxes
• Understanding of financial service companies including Insurance, Investment, and Asset Management
• Strong public speaking and written communication skills are required.  Must be comfortable regularly interacting with and challenging senior management
• A willingness to share State & Local tax knowledge and expertise with others
• Looking for someone who is assertive, creative and proactive
• Computer skills including CorpTax compliance software and strong researching skills including use of on-line tools such as RIA or CCH
• Periodic travel to business units may be required
