The Consolidating Planning and Analysis team is primarily responsible for the forecasting, planning, and analysis of Prudential Retirement's financial results. The group has responsibility for consolidating the monthly and quarterly operating results of Retirement's Full Service and Institutional Investment Products businesses. This includes partnering with the finance teams within the Retirement businesses, key business contacts, as well as finance groups across the Investment Division and Corporate areas. The team also develops presentations for senior management of Retirement, along with significant interaction with Senior Finance Management within the division. 
 
The Financial Reporting Associate position includes the following responsibilities:
  • Partner with business P&A contacts to prepare Corporate forecasts (GAAP, Required Equity, Statutory, Tax)

  • Assist in the consolidation and development of quarterly forecasts

  • Prepare and provide analysis required by Pru Retirement and Corporate Reporting areas (e.g. Corporate P&A, Treasurers, Tax)

  • Support producing insightful analytics and financial metrics to senior management

  • Support the preparation of presentations for senior management

  • General responsibilities for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex spreadsheets in Excel used to compile and analyze data

  • Support the process around cash flows to investment management in the modeling of expected asset purchases and forecast net investment income.

  • Assisting in capital management and the development of risk adjusted return analysis.

  • Analyzing results from key competitors and investment analysts.

  • Supporting strategic projects as necessary.

  • Support numerous ad hoc requests for financial information

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business
  • Strong technical skills (e.g. data extraction and manipulation)
  • Strong PC skills (a strong working knowledge of Excel)
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of EFDW, Oracle or related Financial Systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail, due dates and deadlines
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Discretion to deal with confidential information
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • 3 years experience in Finance or related field
  • Strong communication skills and ability to foster relationships with multiple departments
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and challenging environment
