Junior Account Manager to Support Staff and Strengthen Account Relationships

Prudential’s  Group Insurance (GI) Small Market Segment (SMS) Account Management team is seeking a Junior Account Manager who will be responsible for managing relationships with assigned new and existing clients, mobilizing support staff to maintain and strengthen account relationships, and growing the business while also resolving issues as they arise. This position entails generating revenue growth by retaining existing customers, expanding in-force business and achieving client satisfaction. The Junior Account Manager is typically assigned mid-sized (500 – 1000 employees) accounts that vary in complexity. Travel required as needed.
 
Daily activities include but are not limited to:
 
Business Development
  • coordinating marketing, sales and support services for Small Market accounts.

  • exercising a solid understanding of assigned clients and requirements while developing programs to meet these requirements.

  • consults with client/broker and use participation analysis and other internal resources to plan and execute an enrollment strategy to increase participation and volumes on voluntary plans including Life, ADD, and Disability.

  • meet with clients/brokers on regular basis to review claims reports and discusses possible needed plan changes.

 
Talent Management
  • providing support to junior staff.

This position is located in one of the following locations : Los Angeles, CA, San Diego, CA, or Walnut Creek, CA.



  • 3+ years of demonstrated success in servicing med-sized accounts in the Group Insurance industry.
  • the ability to develop group relationships, maintaining a solid retention rate with medium size accounts.
  • the ability to develop and foster group relationships (a proven track record of achievement servicing and working with the consultants and/or brokerage community).
  • excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • solid knowledge of Prudential’s Group Insurance products and services.
  • California Group Life and Health Insurance license required.
