Description
The Prudential Insurance Company of America, a Prudential Financial company, is among the largest group life and disability insurance carriers in the nation, and has a strong, ongoing focus on long-term care insurance.
 
This position works with risk management analysts and GI business associates in support of the objectives of the business group and helps to ensure that an effective and efficient risk management program is maintained, as well as ensures that control gaps/weaknesses are appropriately addressed. Support will include, but will not be limited to: assistance with the evaluation/analysis of processes, management reporting, and implementation of oversight procedures, risk management and control awareness training and proactive risk management.  Efforts are geared toward ensuring that operational risks are well managed and operational processes are well controlled. At the direction of the Vice President, Risk Management works with business group staff to proactively identify areas of operational risk across business processes or functional areas and initiates evaluation and analysis. Coordinates or assists with business unit wide risk identification, measurement and monitoring activities.  Maps workflow and analyzes risks and controls across processes or functional units. Reviews and analyzes transactions for compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Assists with the development of meaningful management information reporting and key risk indicators. Participates in the implementation of large-scale control initiatives, including workflow mapping, procedural development and documentation. Monitors progress and reports status to senior management on business group risk management and control initiatives. Assists business group management in the development and implementation of appropriate control standards and reviews and recommends appropriate remediation steps as a result of risk assessments that are performed.

  • Ability to effectively interact with Prudential control functions (i.e., Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit) to ensure business work efforts are focused and are receiving the appropriate amount of attention.
  • Project management skills a plus.
  • Internal control or risk analysis background or experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
