Description
The Release Manager will be responsible for establishing a formal Release Management practice in the Prudential Retirement Technology organization. The release manager will need to work closely with multiple partners inside and outside of the technology organization, and will require strong collaboration and negotiation skills. This role should interact with portfolio managers, delivery managers, and operations managers to come up with roadmap of items to be included in the release, including any and all changes to production applications.
 
 The position will be responsible for planning, creating, and coordinating organization production release schedules, coordinating pre-release, release weekend, and post-release activity, reporting on scheduled release activity, and implementing a release management tool.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
·         Establishing overall release strategies
·         Establishing release acceptance criteria and release phase gates
·         Develop release schedules
·         Establish release meeting and activity schedules
·         Implement and maintain a release management tool
·         Coordinate release weekend and post release weekend activities
·         Coordinate release validation activities
·         Coordinate all release communications
·         Establishing release based metrics and reporting, including schedule release summaries, reports on release activities, release health reports, and release implementation scorecards.
·         Coordinate and negotiate Prudential Retirement release activities with corporate level release management
·         Serve as the primary contact and coordinator for all release activity in Retirement Technology
·         Tracking all release items that comprise the release including items that are added or removed from scope
·         Working with delivery and operations managers to plan the deployment of the release into production
·         Develop release backout plans and impact analysis
·         Develop release risk mitigation plans

·         5+ Years experience working in a collaborative leadership role within a technology organization
·         Experience as a Release Manager is required
·         Self starter with ability to build process from the ground up

·         Proven collaboration skills
·         Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·         Strong presentation skills
·         Experience with commonly used systems development life cycle methodologies such as waterfall, iterative, agile, etc.
·         Experience with ITIL practices preferred
·         Experience in Retirement or related financial industry preferred
