Description
The position supports the objectives of the business group by helping to ensure that an effective and efficient risk management program is maintained. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Assist with the preparation of business unit Self-Assessment documents.
- Perform risk assessments to analyze risks, evaluate controls, identify any gaps and assist with the development of action plans to address gaps. These assessments could be in operational areas, on new products or services, key initiatives, and/or system/process developments.
- Assist Prudential Retirement management in developing action plans to address issues raised by audits, and other control groups.
- Consult on day-to-day control within the business, providing risk management perspective.
- Assist management in the implementation of Corporate programs and initiatives.
- Contribute to internal Risk Management reporting, training and other initiatives.
The wide range of support Risk Management provides to the business requires a team based approach. All employees work on multiple products and participate in multiple projects simultaneously. As such the candidate should possess the following:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently and with confidence
- Ability to quickly understand new concepts and understand and assess implications to the business
- Must have proven ability to partner effectively with others and develop positive working relationships at all levels
- Demonstrated conceptual thinking and analytical skills
- Minimum of 3-5 years in operational audit/risk management
- Project management experience preferred
- Internal audit or public accounting experience preferred
- Retirement industry experience (Structured Solutions such as Risk Transfers and Structured Settlements, DB, 401K, Deferred Compensation, Investment Management) preferred
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 35%
- Ability to work independently and in ever changing environment
