Position:  Senior Auditor (IT) - Internal Audit
 
Prudential's Internal Audit Department currently has an opportunity available within our audit team covering the Individual Life Insurance and Group Insurance businesses. 
 
Responsibilities:
 
As an Information Technology auditor, this individual will participate in audits across multiple disciplines such as Sales, Operations, Finance, and Regulatory Compliance.  Additionally, the candidate will be required to work cooperatively in a team environment.  The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of the audit including risk assessment, scoping, testing, issue development, and reporting.  The candidate will also have the opportunity to develop less experienced staff.   

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required
  • Three to six years of Information Technology audit or equivalent experience is required
  • Experience working with mainframe and distributed platforms, including Windows, UNIX, RACF and Relational Database Management Systems
  • Knowledge of risks associated with general application controls, including logical security and systems development methodology
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the technology and risks associated with Web applications, mobile devices, social media, malware and cloud computing is a plus but not required
  • Certification (e.g., CISA, CISSP), is a plus but not required 
  • Experience with risk assessment, control analysis, audit procedures and standards, sampling techniques, risk components, and the internal framework of control, preferably within the financial services industry 
  • The ability to effectively and confidently discuss audit issues with management and develop business-focused recommendations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Project management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Experience working in a team environment and independently
  • Understanding of the Individual Life and/or Group Insurance lines of business is a plus but not required

 

This position is based in Newark, New Jersey; however audit fieldwork will require some travel to central NJ, eastern Pennsylvania and Minneapolis, as well as other domestic locations.  Expected out-of-state travel is 5%-15%, percentage of travel varies based on audit plans.
