Senior Sales Assistant Experienced in Insurance, Sales and/or Customer Service
Prudential's Group Insurance (GI) Sales & Account Management (SAM) team is seeking a Senior Sales Assistant that will provide sales support to the assigned Sales staff members. Sales Assistants are required to work closely with their assigned Sales Managers and possess comprehensive knowledge of the prospect and client base, broker relationships, key contacts, products offered, and sales strategies for key brokers. Sales Assistants offer day-to-day customer service for small market clients and brokers.
The Senior Sales Assistant will aid in special projects throughout the year, serve as a resource for new hires for the first six months and also serve as a backup for their team leader as needed. Senior Sales Assistants may work on more complex cases as required for their office or their backup office and must have required product and underwriting knowledge to support the more complex cases. Overtime may be required during peak periods.
Daily activities include but are not limited to:
  • organizing all proposals through completion with the various internal departments, and following up on various items for project management in the office.

  • accessing our rating system with the appropriate competitive window adjustments, additional discounts, plan design adjustments, and proposal development.

  • ensuring daily activity activities as outlined by process and procedures are in line with compliance and auditing standards.

  • serving as liaison between external group clients/brokers and Home Office contacts and departments, accessing online tools and resources to administer client questions and issues, and working to resolve problems.

  • organizing and upkeep of the office, as well as various other administrative duties for their assigned Sales personnel. Office upkeep includes ensuring shared office equipment and supplies are available and in working order.


  • 3+ years of experience in the insurance industry in Sales or Customer Service.
  • obtaining License and Appointment designation through the state and Prudential will be required.
  • self-motivated with the ability to work independently and provide timely results.
  • a customer-focused individual who is solution-oriented and deadline-driven.
  • strong verbal and written communication skills (able to converse with our producers).
  • strong organization and time management skills.
  • excellent Microsoft Office skills with the ability to adapt quickly to specific window based applications.
  • working knowledge of Lotus Notes
