As a core business within the Asset Management segment, Prudential
Investments (PI) is committed to serving the investment needs of
retail clients.  PI consists of two major businesses; Mutual
Funds and Wealth Management Solutions (WMS).  The Mutual Fund
business partners with Prudential Investment Management (PIM) to
offer competitive, proprietary-managed mutual funds to individual
investors through third-party distribution channels.  The WMS
business partners with key financial services institutions to
provide technology driven, enhanced asset management services to
their clients.
 
The Finance area within PI is currently seeking a finance
professional to fill a Sr. Accounting Associate role.  The
selected individual will have responsibilities within the
Controllership, Planning & Analysis and Financial Reporting
functions supporting primarily the mutual fund business.  The
selected individual will be responsible for measuring and reporting
financial results and will also support management during the
forecasting process.
 
Responsibilities
  • Preparing journal entries, supporting files, reconciliations,
    and other month-end close related functions

  • Processing wire requests, recording of cash activities and
    completing monthly bank reconciliations

  • Analysis of financial results and preparation of support
    schedules

  • Analysis of balance sheet accounts and preparation of quarterly
    summary reports

  • Preparation  of quarterly income taxes for four legal
    entities (using Corp Tax system)

  • Reporting out of results to internal partners (Business
    Partners, PIM Center, Corporate, Audit)

  • Assist in interim and annual legal entity audits conducted by
    external auditors

  • Assist in the completion of quarterly forecasts 

  • Develop relationships and partner effectively with the PIMS and
    WMS teams within PI Finance

  • Various ad-hoc projects and requests


  • College degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years of accounting/finance experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrates initiative, attention to detail
  • Solid oral, written and organizational skills
  • Strong Excel skills 
  • Business knowledge and related work experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Prudential's financial systems (i.e. Oracle, CorpTax) is preferred
