Description
The Product Tax unit of the Corporate Tax Department is responsible for ensuring that federal and state tax rules related to Prudential products are interpreted properly and applied consistently across the Company.  Product Tax works in partnership with the business groups to develop tax risk management strategies, processes and standards in accordance with best practices.  This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with non-qualified and qualified tax laws/regulations related to our Retirement business.  The scope of this position may expand to include other Prudential businesses in the future.

  • Responsibilities include:

  • Perform tax research and respond to questions and complaints

  • Support  product and systems development and enhancements

  • Participate on project teams for new products and business initiatives

  • Manage relationships with  business partners

  • Perform and document tax based risk analyses 
 

  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in the retirement business strongly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify, evaluate and manage tax risks within the Business
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and assignments effectively
  • Demonstrates initiative and drive for results in approach to assignments
  • Strong time management skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform research in multiple resources (manuals, on-line)
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • PC skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team structure
  • Project management skills a plus
  • Ability to learn and adapt to change a plus
  • Knowledge of product tax rules is helpful
  • Familiarity of business operations and systems is helpful 
 
Comments:  
  •  The position will be based in Dubuque, IA 
  •  Periodic travel to Newark, NJ will be required
  • Overtime will be required, especially during peak periods
  •  Outside candidates are being considered
