Description
Prudential's Institutional Investment Solutions group is seeking an outstanding senior product manager to work within our rapidly growing stable value products business.

Prudential conducts its principal businesses through three divisions:  the Insurance Division, the Investment Division and the International Insurance and Investments Division.  Within the Investment Division, Prudential's retirement business manufactures and distributes products and provides administrative services for qualified and non-qualified retirement plans for companies of all sizes.

Institutional Investment Solutions is responsible for engineering the fixed income portfolio guarantee (Stable Value) products that constitute one of the fastest growing businesses within the Prudential enterprise.  With over $90 billion in assets under management, Prudential enjoys an ever stronger leadership position in the Stable Value asset class.  The VP, Senior Deal Team Leader is charged with leading a Third Party Stable Value deal team as well as providing oversight, direction and other leadership support to two additional deal teams.

Job Responsibilities:
This professional must demonstrate exceptional capabilities in Prudential's leadership competencies and be able to articulate in cogent and compelling fashion to internal and external business partners as well as to sophisticated Clients. It is also critical for this position to effectively manage resources dedicated to all aspects of the deal origination process, maintain coverage across the entire pipeline and identify and resolve gaps which may lead to disruptions in productivity and throughput.

The VP, Senior Deal Team Leader is responsible for negotiating detailed contract terms with large, sophisticated Institutional Investors each of which has in depth knowledge and significant experience in negotiating such contracts. This professional must have intricate knowledge of financial contracts while concurrently meeting Client needs and protecting Prudential from unacceptable risks.  This requires developing solutions that are creative yet meet the, often, conflicting goals between internal constituencies and prospects.  The incumbent must then translate those terms to the Contracts, Legal and Actuarial teams to appropriately construct documents reflecting the understanding agreed to by both parties, while remaining within acceptable risk parameters and pricing considerations.

Requirements for this position also include the ability to negotiate highly technical investment guidelines with sophisticated Investment Managers who are experts in their field.  Investment Guidelines often include highly esoteric asset classes or structures that must be understood in the context of the overall portfolio and its impact on the risk profile of the contractual guarantee.

The professional filling this position should understand all aspects of financial transaction evaluation and execution processes, including underwriting, investment strategy, risk modeling, contractual provisions, and legal considerations. These capabilities will be applied in the preparation and submission of deal evaluations and recommendations for review and approval.

The successful candidate will have a desire to deliver results as part of a high performing team, learn continuously and to expand his or her responsibilities significantly through time.
