QVC is looking for an experienced Senior Apparel Print Designer with leadership experience.

The Senior Apparel Print Designer is responsible for all aspects of designing printed, woven and embroidered textiles inclusive of the conception of ideas, execution of engraver ready art, and development of color stories.

The Senior Apparel Print Designer will also lead, manage and be responsible for the development of the print design staff. Manage workflow of requested artwork in and out of the Apparel Print Design Team, providing issue resolution when necessary. Assign timelines and schedules to complete the print process, manage team accordingly. Initiate and maintain all standards for print execution as specified by print team.

Under the direction of the Director, Fashion and Technical Design, the successful candidate will:

• Design prints for all designed apparel in collaboration with the Fashion Design team. This encompasses multiple brands and all classifications.

• Manage team to meet all necessary timelines and deadlines. Alert partners and team when deadlines need to be reworked. Adhere to a time and action calendar.

• Coach and develop team.

• Work directly with Global Sourcing and International Offices to ensure proper communication and development of new factories.

• Accurately predict and provide trend presentations and designs. Predict and design into trends, colors and prints that fit into each brand’s positioning statement.

• Predict trends via shopping trips, studio visits and conferences.

• Present CAD work during key design meetings and prepare it for submission to sourcing partners.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent business experience; advance studies in one or more of the following; Fine Art, Textiles, Graphics, Apparel Design

Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in CAD print design in a wholesale or retail environment. Minimum 3-5 years managing staff.
Job Specific Knowledge:

• Ability to lead, direct and develop others.

• Proficient on NedGraphics.

• Proficient on Photoshop, Illustrator or similar Computer Aided Design Program.

• Artistic and technical expertise in developing prints, yarn-dyes, graphics, woven patterns and embellishments.

• Ability to make decisions to achieve desired results; ability to identify and respond to business opportunities and threats quickly.

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management and sourcing partners.

• Ability to quickly analyze data/situations and draw relevant conclusions to have positive effects on business in a complex environment.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Excellent, oral, written and telephonic communication skills.

• Ability to use computer peripheral devices such as scanners and printers.

• Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.

• Ability to access information using automated systems (e.g., windows based computer); experience with spreadsheets (Excel preferred) and word processing.

• Ability to make oral and written presentations; ability and confidence to present opinions and thoughts in a clear, unbiased manner.

• Ability to work independently; ability to prioritize multiple tasks, to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines and goals.

• Ability to prioritize and to quickly change priorities and to seek assistance/direction when necessary.

• Ability to differentiate between colors.
