Director of Purchasing role open for a fantastic, growing company in the food manufacturing industry, salary up to $140K. The Director of Purchasing will be responsible for managing contract manufacturing business relationships including confidentiality, quality, service, costs and yield performance. This will include understanding internal capabilities and evaluating plant capabilities and cost savings opportunities. The Director of Purchasing will be responsible for JIT ordering background, lead negotiations with both current and prospective suppliers and insure the company against risk. Experience in automated inventory and cycle counting programs, experience in setting up cost analysis tracking software and programs. Experience in raw materials, packaging and parts inventory ordering and procurement. The ability to lead and manage 3 plus people, demonstrate the ability to work closely with other functions including production, logistics, sales/finance) The ideal candidate will have 10 plus years of direct production/finance/supply chain/purchasing experience. APICS, CPIM certification a plus. Strong project management and organization skills. Strong negotiation skills and supplier accountability measurements skills including a strong demonstrated record of driving cost savings while ensuring product integrity/product performance. Bachelors degree required in business management, production management or IT) MBA is strongly preferred. Experience within the food manufacturing industry, within the last 5-7 years, is also a requirement.
