DescriptionRobert Half Technology is looking for an experienced Applications Manager for a client in our Canton, OH market. This Applications Manager will implement and manage the ERP business systems for the client. The Applications Manager will also be responsible for development, implementation, new technology selection, and continuous improvement based on business cases.
Job Responsibilities include: Designing, gaining approval for and executing projects. Accessing industry/competitive trends and guiding activities accordingly. Sharing business and marketplace knowledge and helping others understand the direction of the marketplace with regard to IT/business systems. Directing and managing staff. Selecting, hiring, training, coaching and assuring performance. Developing and executing succession plans. Maintaining positive employee relations. Serving as project manager, where appropriate and when new systems are implemented. Working closely with vendors to identify appropriate, most cost effective product offerings and incorporates them into the client's computing environment. Serving as backup to staff in all Business Systems support. Determining best, non-intrusive, low impact processes; prioritizing multiple issues, solving problems when there are no available precedents, guidelines or policies, by drawing on experience, research, input from peers and other problem solving alternatives. Actively participating in management team by contributing to departmental goals, offering input and pursuing new ideas. Serving as formal management team leader / facilitator. Providing team leadership, assuring open and timely communication throughout the IT organization. Maintaining state of the art technical and software applications knowledge. Supporting continuous improvement and initiating and driving change. Assuring compliance with all company policies and SOX procedures. Job Requirements: Experience transforming information technology teams in the midst of reconfiguring applications, infrastructure and employee skills sets. Broad application expertise in business information systems, typically acquired through a Bachelor's degree in IS or Computer Science. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to all types of people. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated presentation skills. Strong listening skills; ability to translate technical information for non-technical audience and vice versa. Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills. Demonstrated project management skills. Ability to coordinate efforts with peers both inside and outside of IT. Demonstrated ability to understand and utilize related software packages. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
