Looking for an addition to the Operation team to be responsible for maintaining the steady-state, evaluation, tuning, data load optimization and improvement of enterprise-wide SQL Server databases

Role and Function
Provide expert technical support in the administration of SQL Server
Diagnose and solve database problems, performance tuning and troubleshooting
Perform specialized optimization, scripting & stored procedures, tasks automation, design support
Monitor and support development, test, and production environments servers, software and application using SQL databases
Design, implement and maintain SSIS packages and database replication
Design and support High Availability and Disaster Identify and drive opportunities for improving systems and practice
Enhance and maintain standards, guidelines, procedures for the SQL Server infrastructure.
Migrate and upgrade databases through various environments, from older SQL Server versions and platforms.
Provide support to application developers in the use of the SQL Server DBMS
Monitor the health of the Production databases and plan, maintain and implement an Operational Maintenance Schedule for optimal system performance
On-call and after-hours support is required for this role.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
BA or BS in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent combination of skills, experience and education
Minimum 5 years DBA experience with MS SQL
Expertise in SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 and administration of production databases
Experience working with formal change management and compliance processes (e.g. SOX)
Ability to transfer skills and knowledge to team members, and work as part of a team
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Sound problem solving / analytical skills
Exposure to operational best practice
Experience in SQL Server database, especially in diversified enterprise environment, is essential
