A local Philadelphia company is seeking a Network Engineer. In this role the candidate will monitor and maintain quality of service for voice/video and priority applications; monitor protocol compatibility, perform system tuning, and make recommendations for improvements; assist in the implementation of new network architecture, network projects and upgrades; perform network problem resolution and assist in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications; evaluate new products and services; participate in design of network architecture and infrastructure; and integrate and schematically depict communications architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations. Other responsibilities will be to participate in design of best practice builds for routers, switches, server OS, firewall rule sets, and network topology; provide Tier II support for end-users; monitor and maintain server hardware and software; upgrade network hardware and software; monitor network traffic patterns; coordinate and apply network patches and fixes; monitor and maintain VoIP infrastructure; as well as work with telecommunications carriers for installation and troubleshooting of PRI and WAN circuits.
