JOB DESCRIPTION:
We have an opening in our Architecture/Application Infrastructure Team for an experienced C#/Sql developer with 5+ years experience designing and implementing solutions using the Microsoft Technology stack.
This role requires both advanced Sql Server development skills and strong object oriented design skills. This includes the ability to articulate these designs using UML modeling and generating the necessary functional and technical specifications. (While agile development methodologies are employed, the developer must be able to clearly explain and defend design decisions.) The developer also must be comfortable working at all application tiers. The right candidate is a self-starter with the technical implementation skills to deliver professional solutions that solve business needs, many front line critical to the day to day operation and success of the business.
Clear communication skills and a team-player attitude are imperative as the developer will work closely with internal users and systems personnel throughout the SDLC to coordinate project initiatives from the requirements phase through Production deployment.
Responsibilities include the ability to break a project down into deliverables, task estimation, technical design, coding, testing and implementation of custom software solutions along with maintenance and feature enhancement of existing solutions.
Experience with or an interest in learning new technologies, i.e., Enterprise Service Bus, Distributed System Caching, Parallel Computing (TPL), and Web Services is also important as these technologies may be applied to help improve the scalability and reliability of existing distributed systems
Experience in the Investment Management / Financial Industry is highly preferred.
The primary software technologies include: C#, .NET, T-SQL, SQL Server 2008/2012, LINQ to SQL and Link to Entity Framework, Win Forms, WCF, TFS 2010 (Work Items, Automated Builds, and Source Control), nServiceBus, nCache, SSRS, Visual Studio/TFS 2010 and Infragistics controls.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years as a Software Developer in a Microsoft environment using C#, .NET, SQL) including schema design, stored procedure development, performance tuning and optimization.
Applied knowledge of the full SDLC with the ability to write comprehensive technical specifications from business requirements.
Experience working on large (multi-terabyte) databases a strong plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Diligence and experience creating and utilizing automated unit and integration testing.
Knowledge of Object Oriented Application Design best practices and techniques.
Experience with Enterprise Framework 4 is a plus.
Tier 3 support responsibilities for critical systems are included in the job responsibilities.
Experience with Application Lifecycle Management on Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS).
Experience developing distributed systems using Service Bus and Distributed Caching a plus.
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or related field is a requirement.
