Description
Robert Half is seeking a individual with Windows server and general networking experience seeking new challenges in a dynamic environment. A successful candidate will be required to handle many different facets of our IT infrastructure, from deploying new technologies to day-to-day management and support. This is a contract to hire opportunity in Vancouver, WA

Responsibilities

Ensuring that the network and systems infrastructure is up and running

Develop and improve management of desktop life cycle. Create new desktop deployment strategies.

Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirement

Applying operating/appliance system updates, patches, and configuration changes
Management of both hardware and software

Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures

Experience with monitoring tools

Diagnostic skills, analyzing computer system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems

Initiate and document systems errors and incidents and perform adequate postmortem investigations.

Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.

Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale

Work with management on developing and implementing IT strategies that align with business goal

Technical Documentation:

Enhance and document IT department policy and procedures

Develop and implement a systems infrastructure and technology refresh plan
Develop, maintain and enforce a current network systems and information security policy and procedure

Provide hands-on desktop and systems support including answering technical queries
Hands on experience setting up, configuring and providing ongoing administration to firewalls

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

Position Requirements

4+ years' hands on experience with Network Systems administration of Windows desktop and Servers

Experience managing and deploying desktop systems at enterprise level

Desktop deployment toolsets, SCCM, WAIK, WADK, MDOP, App-V

Solid understanding of TCP/IP, Switching, Routing, LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, VPN
Availability to travel periodically.

Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree in computer science or information systems, or equivalent work experience

Exceptional sense of accountability and solid organizational skills

Team player who is willing to take direction as well as work on issues and projects on their own

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Hands on experience diagnosing and resolving complex information technology issues

Enjoy self-supervision and working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Knowledge of web servers and database servers
