Develops, evaluates, and documents embedded firmware security.

Job Duties
Develop, maintain and leverage embedded firmware security features for a variety of electronic hardware platforms. Embedded firmware security features include user authentication and authorization, data integrity, audit logging, and media sanitization.

Responsibilities include development of applications, drivers, and libraries to provide security features for embedded product firmware. Additional responsibilities may include performance analysis, integrating open source packages within existing embedded firmware, and specification or creation of development tools.

Specific Job Responsibilities:
-Design, Develop, Debug and Maintain embedded firmware including Linux application, library, device driver, and kernel level programming.
-Evaluate, integrate, and maintain open source software within an embedded firmware environment.
-Work within the team to coordinate project development within product family development paradigm.
-Coordinate investigation of security integration issues across multiple products
-Coordinate with other teams in developing robust custom security solutions.
-Lead less experienced members of the team in developing and debugging best practices.
-Leverage an existing code base to a new microprocessor architecture.

Qualifications:
-BS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science. (GPA of 3.6/4.0 preferred, MS degree preferred.)
-Classwork should include: computer architecture, data structures, high-level programming languages and algorithms. It is preferred that the candidate has classwork in: software engineering principles, operating system design, security and networking.
-Strong C/C++ programming experience.
-1+ years working in a Unix programming environment
-Good verbal and written communication skills.
-Experience with cryptographic libraries is a plus.
-Experience with authentication and authorization systems is a plus.
-Experience with linux system logging is a plus.
-Experience with linux file systems is a plus.
-Experience with secure network protocols is a plus.
-Experience with secure coding practices is a plus.
-Experience in Java programming is a plus.
