DOMINICK’S DISTRIBUTION CENTER The Dominick’s Division’s Risk Management Department, located in Oak Brook, IL, has an opening for a Risk Control Supervisor at the Dominick’s Distribution Center. This position will be responsible for assisting in managing the Dominick’s Distribution Center safety program to reduce and control employee accident frequency and severity. Qualifications: The following are preferred or desired unless specifically stated: •4 year college degree. Additionally, Safety Certification i.e., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Associate in Loss Control (ACLM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and OSHA Certification. •3-5 years experience in Distribution Center Safety. •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. •Working knowledge of all applicable statutes and regulations such as OSHA general industry regulations, EPA regulations as they relate to ammonia refrigeration systems and Workers’ Compensation. •Proficient PC skills •Success in developing, implementing and coordinating risk/hazard control programs •Customer service oriented. •Must be highly motivated and work independently with a strong sense of urgency and business orientation. •Adept at multi-tasking and prioritizing of competing demands on time and resources. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: •Develop and implement a successful and comprehensive safety program. •Revise the safety program as needed to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and DFF standards. •Design programs to identify factors or operating units that present opportunities for improvement in safety and design loss control programs to reduce the frequency and severity of losses. •Develop safety partnership with all management and employees. •Develop safety–related communications for safety bulletins and safety and health alerts. •Assist facilities with questions regarding safety. •Aid facilities in upgrading Injury Illness Prevention Program to reduce injuries. •Maintain current incident data and accident investigations. •Coordinate Distribution Center audits and develop follow-up reports. •Compile and maintain DC safety standards and procedures documentation; communication to and coordination with appropriate operational areas. •Interact with OSHA as necessary. •Maintain OSHA injury and illness recordkeeping program and certify these records. •Support Corporate EHS Department in the area of process safety management and risk management plans for facilities using ammonia and other hazardous materials. •Monitor fleet safety. •Provide periodic status updates to Corporate Safety Director and other essential management personnel. •Conduct training that addresses frequency, severity and hazard identification / remediation for managers, supervisors and front line employees. •Perform daily safety walks to inspect the premises and operations for unsafe conditions / behaviors; correct unsafe work conditions / practices to create a safer work environment. •Conduct accident investigations. •Assist the Worker’s Compensation, Liability Claims and EHS Departments in related risk management matters. Salary: Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
